National Postal Policy Council Q2 2014 Meeting

The National Postal Policy Council (NPPC) is the trade association for large business users of letter mail, primarily in First Class. NPPC is committed to ensuring that a postal system to serve business mailers and the public comprehensively, effectively and efficiently be sustained. With the Postal Service under severe financial stress, NPPC is working with Congress, USPS and the Postal Regulatory Commission, as well as other postal stakeholders, to achieve a solution that will address the financial challenges.

For more than twenty-five years the National Postal Policy Council has represented a distinguished group of the largest and most prestigious mailers in the country. During its nearly thirty years as a trade association, NPPC has addressed issues for the benefit of its members, the Postal Service and the users of the nation's mail system in general. Council members include representation from all the major mailers in the country to include (but not limited to) representation from Aetna, Allstate, American Express, AT&T, Broadridge, Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, Cigna, Citi, DST Output, Farmers Insurance, Fidelity, IWCO, Liberty Mutual, Progressive, RR Donnelly, Spirnt, Travelers, Verizon, Wells Fargo.

Sheri Jammallo, Corporate Enterprise Segment Marketing Manager, Canon Solutions America is a Council Member, and recently participated in the Q2 2014 NPPC quarterly meeting. Through its quarterly meetings, members have prominently participated in a myriad of major initiatives, ad-hoc groups to task forces to working committees, Postal Regulatory Commission proceedings, attacking specific challenges facing the nation's mail system. And, the Council has maintained an active presence on Capitol Hill concerning pivotal postal matters.

During the most recent quarterly meeting held on May 8, 2014, topics discussed included:

  1. David Williams, Inspector General USPS was a guest speaker , and he talked about the latest assessment of the USPS and Policy Prescriptions.
  2. Francis McMahon, Vice President Production Print Marketing, Canon Solutions America spoke about the State of the Print Industry and Interactions with Mailers.
  3. Gary Reblin, Vice President New Products & Innovation, USPS spoke about looking ahead and new USPS mailing options
  4. Topics discussed amongst the Council members included
    • Exigency Process
    • PRC issues
    • Current status of the Legislation
    • Member Exchange on USPS Operational Concerns

Sheri Jammallo is the Corporate Enterprise Segment Marketing Manager for Canon Solutions America, with a keen focus on marketing strategies across North America in the Transactional, Direct Mail, Data-Center and In-Plant print production space. She brings with her a wealth of industry knowledge that enables her to lead field relevant go-to-market production print strategies and programs for Canon Solutions America that bring value-add to the production print customer and print industry.

Previous to Canon Solutions America, Sheri spent many years in several roles at Xerox Corporation. She was a Production Print Solutions Manager in the Northeast responsible for high end production print technology and services portfolio, leading a business development team of Production Print Sales Specialists within the In-Plant and Commercial print space. Prior to that role, she was a Production Print Business Development Executive as the lead business development strategist to grow market share in In-Plants and Data-Centers within the New England region.

Sheri began her career in the Commercial print space at Standard Register. She spent several years with Standard Register in business development and leadership roles, with a strong focus on go-to-market growth strategies of a vast portfolio of commercial print applications to the Financial, Insurance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Public Sector, Educational and Retail vertical markets.
